Ph.D. Student in Computer Science
I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at Iowa State University, where I work as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Data and Knowledge Mining Lab under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Qi Li, Associate Professor of Computer Science.
My research lies at the intersection of natural language processing and knowledge representation. I work on entity linking, information extraction and knowledge graphs, and on using large language models to retrieve and reason over scientific and biomedical text — with a particular interest in methods that generalize to new domains with little or no task-specific supervision. I currently contribute to an NSF-funded research project in this area.
Before beginning my doctorate, I was a Software Engineer in natural language processing at Technometrics Limited in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where I built Bengali multi-label topic classification and aspect-based sentiment analysis systems. My work in this line of research has been published at the Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing (EMNLP).
